THE 60'S

1965

David Splitek '65
"After graduation I attended UW Madison and then served in the US Army.  I met my wife Janet while stationed at Ft. Bliss, TX and have been here ever since.  I earned a couple of graduate degrees at the University of Texas and then moved to San Antonio.  Janet and I have three sons, Jeremy a senior at UT San Antonio, Adam, a freshman at Texas A&M and Steven, a freshman at Rice University in Houston.  Adam and Steven are twins.  We have lived in San Antonio for the past twenty years.  Currently I am superintendent of the Lackland Independent School District on Lackland Air Force Base.  Our sons and I all enjoy running and I try to play as much golf as possible - we can play all winter - which explains why I never moved back to Wisconsin."

Diane (Mancusi) Broughton '65

"I'm currently living in Reno, Nevada, and I love living in the West. I have a  home-based business as a fashion consultant.  The youngest of my four sons,  Josh, 17, will graduate from high school in June.  Two of my older three sons live in Colorado: Erik, 31, and Ryan, 27. Kurt, 29, and his wife Krista live  here in Reno.  I have two grandsons: Bradley, 10, and Scotty, 9. After  graduating from Tremper in June 1965, I attended the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and married in June 1966.  We moved to Southern Illinois  and then to Colorado in 1968.  My first husband was in mining, so we moved  quite a bit, ending up in Nevada.   We were divorced, but I remarried in  1992.  My husband Wayne is in education.  We enjoy golfing and traveling.  I  enjoyed seeing so many of the "kids" at our 30th class reunion.  I'd love to  hear from others who were in Tremper's first graduating class and any band or  orchestra members."

 Phil Olsman '65 .

Christine was a friend of mine.  We reconnected after 36 years via e-mail from this website in 2003.  At that time she told me that she had breast cancer.  After not hearing from her for several months, I stopped in to see her mother in Kenosha when I was there in the summer of 2004.  Her mother told me that she had just died 2 weeks prior. To reconfirm this you may contact her brother, John, from the class of 1968.  He lives in Santa Clara CA. Also, you might want to add her name to the deceased list for the class of 1966.  Sincerely,  Susan

Burton Weisman '66
Haven't seen you since BBYO days! How are you? Live in Ojai, CA now, having lived in Puerto Morelos, Yucatan, Mexico, south of Cancun, and in Divide, Colorado for 7-years. Prior to that, retired from Silicon Valley telecom in 2003. Been a Divemaster myself since 1968 and also began skydiving the same year. Became a USCG Licensed Master in 1992 and captained many N/S motoryacht runs on the Intracoastal and throughout the Bahamas with stops in Beaufort and all the other great eastern port cities. Now is as good a time as any to apologize for taking the Kenosha chapter Presidency from you way back when; after you worked so hard and were so deserving and I didn't know my a** from a hole in the ground. Hope this finds you and your loved ones well. Say hello! Very best to you!

I would love to hear from the Class of 1966!

Sandi (DeKok) Sommerville '66
"I lived in Peoria, Illinois for 15 years and Naples, Florida for aprox. 17 years and am now living in Pewaukee, Wi.  I am married to Claude Sommerville (works at Snap On in Kenosha) and I work for Milwaukee G.I Asscoiates in Wauwatosa.  We have 3 dogs and live a very busy life but would like to hear from old classmates and share life's adventures from graduation until now."

"I have a hard time believing that its been forty years since graduating from Tremper.  The journey has been extraordinary.  After graduation I made a serious career choice error.  Instead of accepting the offer from the then relatively new McDonald's corporation to go into management training at "Hamburger U" in Northbrook, Illinois (I had flipped burgers for two years while at Tremper), I elected to take the meager amount that I had saved and attend college.  I had been awarded a music scholarship at North Central College in Naperville and between that, the savings and an NDEA loan (remember those) off to college I went.  Lasted a year there (the total enrollment was less than a third of Tremper!) and moved to the University of Wisconsin at Madison.  I graduated undergraduate school in 1970, married my wife, Cherie that summer and enrolled in law school and graduated from law school in 1973.  Cherie and I have two daughters, Emily, now 31 and a foreign service officer in Bogota, Columbia, and Abigail, now 30, a program manager at the University of Wisconsin School of Business Executive Education program.  We have lived in Evanston, Illinois, Salt Lake City, Utah (what stories I have to tell about living there!), Washington, D.C. (where both girls went to undergraduate school, and Emily went to law school); Palm Harbor, Florida; and now since 2002, Pewaukee, Wisconsin.  The journey has been extremely interesting and unfortunately, all I had of my high school classmates was memories of band, Mrs. McKay's English Class, Physics with Glenn Schnuckel (and a state music contest saxophone duet), and Chemistry with Lenard Lyons (who managed to bore out the bunsen burner so we had a four foot flame!).  My travels around the country gave me a wide array of experiences, but I lost touch with all of my high school classmates.  I noted with great sadness that Steve Holt, Don Markese and Don Miles are not with us anymore.  I have memories of each of them that are as vivid as yesterday.  I even served as best man/photographer for Don Miles and his wife Susan when they eloped in 1970.  Beth Garren was the maid of honor.  I would enjoy catching up with the marelous people that made up the class of '66.  Does anyone remember "Playland" and the padlocks?  I think it made the front page of the Kenosha News.  One of my co-conspirators was Don Miles.  We probably should have been thrown out of school and actually I got very close when I set off the aerial bomb in the Courtyard the day before.  Stanley Nosal caught me and turned me in to Mr. Augustus.  Apparently I was destined to be a lawyer.  I talked my way out of it. Although I have graying hair (I still have most of it) and my waist line is closer to my age than my hat size, I will hopefully be in attendance at the 40th reunion.  I hope to see many of my memories there."

Norman Kober '66

"By Oct.1966 I was on active duty A.F. I served in Okinawa, and Viet Nam (2) tours and finished active duty in July 1970 . I returned to Kenosha for only a short time afterwards. I married in 1971 and am happy to say still Happily married. We have three children and one Grand child.. God is good. I have been in the Restaurant business , all my life , it seems. I started selling Carvel Ice Cream on Sheridan Rd. at age 14 , next I delivered Pizza for the CasaCapri on Sheridan Rd. while i was in H.S. I did try other things to make a living . But they were either to much work, or not quite legal. Not really . I have been an independent contractor for Chick-fil-A for (22) years. I have two stores in McAllen Tx. You may have heard of McAllen TX. if you have folks that winter in Tx. We are all the way down on the Border with Mexico . I have enjoyed reading the news of classmates. It would be great to hear from some of our classmates wherever that might be . I do travel quite! a bit , as my daughters take care of the business almost completely, and my son has his own Chick-fil-A unit in Houston and preparing to open a new unit in Conroe Tx. soon . My family has all left the Kenosha area. I have two older sisters that graduated from Bradford a couple years before Tremper opened and a younger sister that was (4) years behind me in school, they have all moved from Kenosha over the years. as did my parents . My parents lived at 8015 15th ave. before retirement, when they moved north to live on lake , until my dad passed away in 1998 , afterwards my mother moved to Fl. to live near my oldest sister near Vero Beach. Well that my life story so far. I Hope that all who read this will consider me an old friend and look me up some time.  God Bless All"

In 1986 we moved to the lovely green state of Tennessee. We now live in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, which is the very center of the state. Wayne manages a Rent A Center in Franklin, Tennessee. "On May 14, 1969, I married Paulette Riebe ('67 graduate of Park High in Racine) in the LDS Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah.  We have three children: Paul, 24, Jennie, 23, and Clara, 19. We live in Provo, having left Racine, Wisconsin in October of 1983.  Our son, Paul, went on a two year mission for the LDS Church in the Portland, Oregon area from 1995 to 1997.  He is the only one married and is currently working for his Masters Degree in Business Management at the University of Utah.  His wife, Lonni, received her Masters Degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University and is working for the accounting firm Ernst and Young in Salt Lake City.  They have an ongoing 'friendly' college sports rivalry.  Both of our daughters are attending Utah Valley Sate College where I work and Jennie will have her Bachelors Degree in Business Management this December.  No grandchildren yet. Bummer! Since December, 1983 I have worked for Utah Valley State College in the Administrative Computer Services Department as a senior programmer/analyst responsible for the Human Resource System.  Paulette has work the past 10 ½ years for the Provo Police Department in the Records Section.  Prior to coming to UVSC, I worked for Montgomery Wards and Leader Store in Kenosha, 1967-1969; Racine Historical Museum and J. I. Case in Racine, 1969-1970, Racine Die Casting in Sturtevant, 1973-1974, the Office Supply Store in Racine, 1978-1980 and Jupiter Transportation in Kenosha, 1980-1983.I attended college full-time, first at UW-Parkside, from 1966-1967, Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, from 1970-1971, Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah from 1971-1972 and finally UW-Parkside from 1975-1977. As far as hobbies go, I enjoy genealogy and 19th century military history, and hope someday in the future to complete my biographical book about a German-born American who served in the U. S. Infantry from 1853-1895, obtaining the rank of Captain just prior to the Yellowstone Expedition of 1876. We enjoy living out West.  Our type of fun is going ghost town hunting and having picnics along the old Pony Express route or at Fort Bridger, Wyoming."

"I am a full time homemaker. My husband, Fred, of 31 years is also a Tremper 1965 graduate, has worked for Ameritech for 27 years.  We have three grown sons, Rustin 28, Jace 26 and Jodin 24. Rustin is married and has two children, Christopher 8, and Autumn almost . We have five cats who sort of "found" us and stayed.  I enjoy singing with Sweet Adelines Riverport Chorus and we enjoy traveling.  We've gone to New Orleans, Nashville, and took Amtrak to Salt Lake City, enjoying every minute.  This fall we're headed for Atlanta and next summer we're off to Austria.  Fred and I will do the Amtrak thing again in 2001 when the chorus travels to Portland, Oregon. I'm involved with the planning of National Cancer Survivor's Day in Racine each year, and I read novels on the  radio for vision impaired people."

Wow! I just discovered this site pretty cool. I am still in Kenosha although warmer climates seem to be calling louder and louder every Fall. I am employeed as Operations Manager @ Becker mfg. We are a machine shop specializing in stainless fittings. On the personal side, I've been divorced 10 years and life is good. E-mail to jbgfrfan@yahoo.com

Sue (Weiner) Shepanek 67
Currently living in Beaufort, NC enjoying magnificent sunsets and million dollar views of the ocean from my front porch. Married and divorced (just once!!),grown kids in Raleigh and Charleston(SC). I'm teaching high school math at a pretty amazing school that sits on the IntraCoastal Waterway -it's small and the kids are all beach bums. When the waves are good the classrooms are empty! It seemed like a perfect place to finish my last few years before retirement. I'm an avid tennis player, love to kayak, and hope to get a little flat-bottom boat this spring. I'm a certified scuba diver and have also done a couple of sky dives. Totally insane - but by far the most exciting thing I've ever done!  Since my parents left Kenosha I rarely get back there to visit. I'm hoping for a reunion soon. It's great to read everyone's stories and I hope more people will write!

Pamela (Dost) Arries '67
Rick Arries (1966) and I have been married since the fall of 67 and have been through Kenosha several times since we have graduated.  We now live in SC where our son is a minister.  Our daughter and husband moved down here with us in fall of 05 and it is nice to have all our family together again. We haven't seen a snowflake since we have moved here but do miss Lake Michigan. Kenosha's harbor has certainly changed but I don't think Simmons Island ever will. We have traveled and lived many places including Germany, thanks to the USAF.  Lots of nice memories as we face "the Golden Years".

Sue Ann Finn '67
"I hope to see more of our classmates register on this web site.  It is so nice to be able to catch up with old friends.  I am living in Sunny California.  I am working at San Diego State University as a Human Resources Manager.  I have been there for a little more than eight years.  I enjoy the campus atmosphere and of course,  San Diego. My track record with marriage was dismal, therefore, I stopped playing.  I am single and loving the independence. I still have a niece and a nephew in Kenosha. I do not get back there often as they prefer to visit California.  I do plan a trip back to Kenosha for a family wedding next November."

Linda (Marquissee) Matrise '67
"Just wondering who from Class of 1966 still remembers "Kressels"? Living in Milwaukee now, been in several different states in the past 10 years. I have 3 grown children & 4 grandsons. Been divorced for several years & never remarried. Would be great to hear from classmates & hear what has happened in the many years past."

David Caygill '67
"I was an AFS exchange student from New Zealand at Tremper in 66/67.  After a wonderful year in the States I returned to New Zealand, went to college here, graduated in economics and political science and then went on to study law.  Briefly I worked as a lawyer in my home town, Christchurch, during which time I also served on the local City Council.  Then in 1978 I was elected a Member of the New Zealand Parliament, where I served for the next 18 years.  Between 1984 and 1990 I was a Cabinet Minister, holding at various times the responsibilities of Minister of Trade and Industry, Minister of Health and Minister of Finance.

In 1996 I retired from Parliament and returned to being a lawyer.  I'm now a partner in the firm of Buddle Findlay, which is roughly the 4th largest law firm in New Zealand, with offices in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland. I practice in both Christchurch and Wellington in the area we call "public law", ie anything to do with government.

On a different note,  my family have just celebrated an unusual but joyous Christmas, because my host father Ray Fennema, has been in New Zealand with us.  He's just gone back to the States last week.  Some of your readers may remember the Fennema family: Mark, Jim and Tom all went to Tremper and Paul Fennema, I believe, now teaches there.   I'd be delighted to hear from anyone in the class of  67, especially anyone who knows the current whereabouts of Greg Emery and Jim Staude, two of my old class mates with whom I'd love to get back in contact."

Pattie (Rovik) Kolek '67
"I graduated from UW-Madison in '71 with a BS in Nursing.  My husband John  (from Silver Lake) and I were married in '70.  We lived in El Paso, TX for  7 years, part of the time fulfilling our Army obligations.  We lived in St. Louis, MO for 18 years and are now in Madison (Huntsville), AL where John is a systems analyst with the Army civil service.  Our two sons, John and Gary  still live in St. Louis.  I have mainly a critical care background in  nursing and am currently working in a busy cardiac catheterization lab at  Huntsville Hospital.  Most of my family is still in the Kenosha area and I love to visit them when possible."

Peter Blaine '67
"I now live in Phoenix Arizona and work for a company out of Chicago that handles the book departments for a lot of the large stores out here.  I come to Green Bay at least 3 times a year to visit my daughter and her two children. and have remained a steadfast Packer Fan!!!  Have not been back to Kenosha in quite a while and am wondering if anyone else from my class lives out this way.  I would like to start an Arizona Club like my wife did for her school in Indiana."

Yvonne Hansche '67
"After graduating from Tremper I attended LaCrosse State University (as it was called back then). I dropped out my senior year to join the Army and see the world. I spent 10 years on Active duty and 3 in the Reserves. When I got out of the Army I returned to school (finally ready to buckle down) and received a degree in Computer Information Systems. During my two tours in Germany I used every opportunity that I could to travel throughout Europe. I saw may wonderful things and had many great adventures. My tour of duty at the Pentagon lead to my present job today. I work at the Pentagon for the Department of Defense as a Computer Programmer Analyst. I have enjoyed living in the D.C. area since 1977. One can find mountains and wilderness less than an hours drive away. From here I have enjoyed many moments spent hiking, camping, backpacking, and white water rafting. This area is also brimming with history and has many cultural events taking place all of the time. I find myself really having the best of all worlds. I am currently living in Manassas Va., about 50 minuets from downtown D.C. My household consists of 3 dogs, 4 cats, and 2 white mice. Never a dull moment! I only manage to get back to Kenosha once a year for 2 weeks at Christmas. But some years like this year, I do make a short summer trip home. I enjoyed my years at Tremper and have some great high school memories."

"I'm still alive after all these years to the surprise of many of you. I married my wife in 1970 ,and she still puts up with me . Kathy comes from Hayward. We have 2 boys &1 girl. We live in Kenosha and we started out in Key West FL.  I was an air traffic controller, then moved to Kenosha to work for the Kenosha Water Dept. I spend my time reading my Bible, praying and walking.  Thank you Jesus! I can walk up to 2 miles - 2 or 3 times a week. My wife and I are starting our 13th year working with the Tremper Golden Strings. My wife is the piano player and I do whatever Mr. Wells needs done. I love working with the kids. "Displaced to California. Married (only once and currently) 25 years with two children in the university. Several career jobs culminating with engineering projects for physicists at a national laboratory, resulting in some travel. You can read a bit more about it if you visit http://rust.lbl.gov/~gtp which has a couple of travel photos . got the career I wanted...I did miss the quality music program Tremper had as we watched our children go through the orchestra program at the local high school.  But... some music is better than none."

"My husband, Leif Smith, and I have a research and education business called Pattern Research. These days, I travel most of the year, conducting programs for workplaces on communications and productivity; my specialty is libraries and local government, but I work with everyone from large government agencies to self-employed artists. You can see more of our work at our web site at www.pattern.com. In 1999, I presented programs in 18 states, from Alaska to New York, but mostly west of the Mississippi. I visit Kenosha several times a year to check in with my mother, who still lives in town. Look forward to hearing from old high school friends."

"The store is open 24/7 if any of my classmates, ( or other Tremperets )would like to e mail me. I will respond. Who ever thought we would be this old? Love the Officer picture, and for a small fee I will not disseminate it to the general internet. The class of '69, what could be better than that, unless we all had the choice to be 25 again. Hope to hear from a lot of the '69 lunatics. If anyone has an e mail, phone number or address of Julie (later Roy ) Garcia please let me know. I recently spoke to Jim Pedley who is a reporter for the Kansas City Star. I will try to get his e mail, although I'm sure you could find it on yahoo under Jim's name. Best to all, Bill."

Hello out there, it has been awhile since I've checked this site, just an update on the e-mail adress. Wondering how the ladies are that I spent time with when we were young. All is good here, hard to believe that in a short time it will be forty years since we graduated, impossible, but true. Remember "69" was fine.

"I have been working as an employee benefits communication consultant for the past 18 years with international firms like William M. Mercer, Incorporated,  Alexander & Alexander (now Aon Corporation) and Northern Trust Retirement Consulting, Inc.  I am currently the Regional Communication Consultant for the Southeast for BeneCom Associates, LLC.   I also broadcast a blues music radio show on Atlanta's only nonprofit community radio station, WRFG/89.3 FM, every Tuesday from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Eastern time.  The program is streamed real-time over the Internet at www.L5P.com (I was a member of the New Voice radio staff when I was a student  at Tremper in the 1960s and produced a popular music radio show over WLIP and WAXO on Saturday mornings, along with morning broadcasts on Tremper's PA system).  I also serve on the Board of Directors for Radio Free Georgia Broadcasting Foundation, Inc.  In addition to my volunteer work at WRFG, I am active in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (which means I get to hang with a great ten year old guy and relive my childhood).

After living in Southern California for thirty five years, I have moved back to the Kenosha area (Pleasant Prairie).
After graduating from Annapolis in 1974, I ended up in California.  Early on I worked in television production with Dick Clark.  Later, I got into travel, and closed my own agency last year.  It was located in West Hollywood.  I am now attending Carthage College to get my masters in education and I plan on teaching high school spanish  You can see my website at http://ipoe.blogspot.com

" I am living in the Houston area since 1981. I have 3 children - 2 boys and a girl. My sons are 24 and 26, my daughter is just 17. I have my own business - a technical drafting and graphics firm. I am involved in many projects throughout the country. My oldest son lives in Houston, is a structural designer and has a renowned group called Bickley, his name is Bill and they have 3 CD's. My second son lives in Hawaii and is in the electronics business with his dad. My daughter is a very popular teenager at Spring high school. She is on the debate team, honor society and golf team. I have made her high school experience as perfect as it could be and she loves every minute of it. She is on her way to ivy league college, Harvard or Yale and plans to be a (cough! cough!) lawyer. I sometimes miss Kenosha. But not since my dad died. My brother Bob (Butch) is still a bit actor in movies (Coal Fire, Kill me Again) etc. So you have a better chance of seeing him than me. My brother Mark died in 1986 in a surfing accident. My sister Mary is still in Kenosha and brother Bill is some where in the country following his daughter around the college circuit. My mom is in Kenosha, had heart surgery, but seems to be okay. I would love to hear from some of my old friends."

How lovely to read everybody's news.  I'm astonished to see how many of us have left Kenosha over the past 35 years.
I left for good in '78 when I moved to NC (where my family had relocated some years earlier) and pursued a career as an interpreter for Deaf people; from there I moved to NJ, where I met my husband, finally finished college, got married, had two children--a girl, Nora, now 14 and a boy, Kai, 12 (late start!)--fiesty, full of life, smart, fun, challenging kids, and worked for the court system as an interprer.  When my husband finished his doctoral work, we moved to VA for a short post-doc stint.  After that we moved to Germany (my husband is German) where we've now been for nearly 10 years (Bonn area).  I practiced (legal) interpretation for 20+ years but now teach English part-time.  We own a 104 yr old house right on the Rhein River and have a huge garden, which--joyfully--consumes enormous amounts of time.  I swim regularly and am an avid quilter and reader.  My husband is a consultant and my kids crazy wonderful teenagers.  We are members of a loving international church family and are very much enjoying our European lives. It would be great to see you all at a reunion!  Be well!

Peady (Covelli) Sorensen '72
I have been asking around those who are still in Kenosha to see if we have a 35 year reunion planned for this year. No one has heard that anything has been planned as of 1-27-07. Is anyone taking this on?  If not, who would like to plan the 35 year reunion?  Do we have any takers?  LuAnn (Kreusher) Maki said she has the names.  I have the logo that says "Still Crazy After All These Years".  I can be found at luvjeeping2@highstream.net.

Hi To All!! This is something 34 years later I'm still here. When I graduated in '72 it was a Friday, and I remeber the heat in the gym and how I couldn't wait to get out of that robe an square hat, boy was I sweating!  On the following Monday I was supposed to be in Great Lakes, performing my duty as a Recruit in the Navy.  If I can remember correctly I didn't get there till that Wednesday!  HA! I am not going into that.  Anyway, the Navy didn't last long got a medical/honorable, then re-enlisted into the U.S.M.C., but, during my time there the Marines found out that I was discharged from the Navy for medical reasons so they being the Dept. of the Navy discharged me again for the same reasons, so I have two medical discharges, Honorable.  Boy was I disappointed, I went down hill for quite a few years after that.  Been in some really difficult pickles, finally was homeless in Minneapolis, Mn.  My e re-started in Minneapolis.  I was in treatment for Alcohol an other drug abuse for about a year an a half, that was the end of 82 to 84.  On May '84 I landed a job with the U.S.Postal Service as a Motor Vehicle Operator (TTO) I drove a truck 18 wheeler; I was a career regular by November of that year, stayed there till 1990.  I left the Postal Service and then proceeded to go over the road as a long haul trucker.  I have been truckin ever since, I owned and operated five trucks an am now in transition from that to being a company driver.  I have been an O/O for Shanno; Eagan, Mn., D/J Transfer; Sherburne, MN., leased to Chilly, New London, MN., Leased to Perkins Transportation; Indianapolis, In., I was a company driver for Tiger Express out of Milltown, WI.  I have been all over the country an Canada in a truck an I can say that I could not duplicate this experience out of my wallet, not ever.  I really enjoyed my time as a trucker saw allot of different towns met a multiple of people and other driver's, and just plain saw how America works at being America; best History class I have ever attended.  I am 52 today will be 53 in April 11 '06 and I am sort of winding down.  Kind of tired of traffic looking for an office position, maybe work at home off the internet.  LOL, LOL!!!  I have been married twice I have a daughter an a step daughter from the first marriage.  That lasted for bout 7 years, packed my bags then married again in 95 that lasted for 5 yrs no kids there; been single since that time but am living with my present day girl friend, maybe will give it another shot, she is allot better than the 2 previous, no doubt!  We live in Cambridge, MN north of the Twin Cities 93 miles approx.in a log/cedar home an are looking to move to Grantsburg, Wi. that is bout 9 hrs 45 mins from Kenosha;another log home a bit smaller than the one we are in now.  Our kids are grown up and I have 3 grand children, Lynn Marie has a son whom is married but no rug rats as of yet.  We have two mutts a Shitszu named Sadie Mae, and a Pomerinian, Poodle, Pekinese mix named Molly, she is quite the peanut!  I recently, like some months ago was e-mailing Rob Hansen our class of 72 President, but then we just stopped, go figure!  But if it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't be writing this bio.  My hat is off to the Commander three cheers!  Enough Said.

Rosemary M. Savaglio Stollings '72
I have been married to Cliff for 33 years. We have 3 children. Robert 31, Rachael 28 and Rebecca 19. We also have 4 beautiful grandchildren so far... 2 boys and 2 girls. I went to work at the Motors after school at age 18. With all the lay-offs I went back to school and became a Certified Medical Asistant. Well 5 years later I was called back to the plant! I became the UAW Trainer for Product Quality Improvement an appointed position out of Detroit. In May of 2004 I retired after 31 years of seniority. I decided to challenge myself and went back to work at Aurora for Dr. A.J. Cappelli. My husband said enough and after a year of that I retired again. We live on a 20 ac. parcel and are putting in a vinyard on the Garden Penninsula in the UP of MI. We have a boat we cruise Lake Mi. with and I sing in the church choir and belong to the historical society. I would love to hear from old friends. Becky Netzer where are you?

"After high school, did a three year stint in the Army from '74-'77. Came back to Kenosha and went to school in Milwaukee and received a two-year degree in programming. Never did land a job in that field. Did some bar tending and eventually became manager of the old Guttormsen's downtown. Later took a job in Racine as a bar manager at a supper club. In '86 I moved to a small town in northern Georgia named Ringgold. My parents had retired and moved there and I had had enough of K-town. Went back to school to get a degree in Accounting. However, met a lady who was divorced with a 6 year old son. Got married in '89 and so much for school. That marriage ended in '99. My step-son is now 22 and married and living in Atlanta. After my divorce I met and fell in love with a wonderful lady. She also is divorced and has a child from her first marriage. The daughter is now 16 and a sophomore in high school. We have bought a house in a suburb of Chattanooga called Hixson. I work!
k in the offices of an Engineering Company. No...I'm not an engineer, I am office worker. I also work part-time for the Postal Service sitting in front of a computer directing mail electronically. I am a 10 year survivor of a bout with cancer in '93. 10 years is the magical mark for cancer survivors. They say I now have a 99.99999 that my cancer will not return. In October of 2000 I went in for a stress test and ended up having an emergency triple by-pass. Guess there is an angel sitting on my shoulder. I do miss K-town at times, but I am truly home now. I was at the 25 year reunion and have been back to Kenosha one other time since then back in '98. I have noticed that we have lost a lot of our classmates. Does anyone have a complete list of those that have moved on? So....that's it in a nutshell. "Hi" to everyone. P.S. Congratulations Carol!!

"I am currently (and probably forever) still located in Kenosha. I have worked for the County for 24 yrs.(Which I hope I can say is stable!)  I am the mother of three.  2 lovely daughters and a wonderful son.  Grandmother of 5 and loving every minute of it!  Sad to say but after 23 years of marriage I find myself living the life of a single..although there are no regrets:)!"

Jerry Paul MacDonald '72
"I have been married for 27 years.  I have three great kiddos, ages 26, 22, and 21.  The youngest two are married and we had our first grandchild in 2001.  My wife, Pearl, is a clinical therapist at a mental health center here in Las Cruces.  I am presently an adjunct paleontologist with the New Mexico Museum of Natural History.  I received both my Bachelors and Masters degrees from New Mexico State University and did my doctoral work at the University of Virginia.  I had a research appointment at the Smithsonian Institute's Natural History Museum, where I studied under Nicholas Hotton III, from 1987 to 1994.  I have made several significant discoveries, one of which brought me to the senate floor in D.C. to testify for the protection of an assemblage of 280 million year old fossil footprints that I had discovered in the mid-1980's.  I have major research collections in several museums: Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County; Carnegie Museum, Pittsburgh; Smithsonian Institute's Natural History Museum; New Mexico Museum of Natural History; as well as several oversees in Germany, England, Italy, France, China and Japan.  You can see me in the July 1992 issue of Smithsonian Magazine, or in a small announcement of my discovery in the Geographica section at the front of the March 1990 issue of National Geographic.  I have two books out; one is called "Earth's First Steps: Tracking Life Before the Dinosaurs" (Johnson Books); and another book on cryptozoology called "Behold the Behemoth: The Quest that Solved the Mystery of the Dinosaurs of Job."  EFS is out of print in hardcover, but it will probably be released in paperback in the next year or so.  "Behemoth" I believe is still available through Amazon.com.  I received several national awards for my fossil protection endeavors, and have been nominated for the first-ever "Benjamin Franklin Citizen Science award" for my paleozoic discoveries here in New Mexico.  Other nominees include fellow paleontologist John (Jack) Horner of "Jurassic Park" fame, and astronomer David Levy (co-discoverer of the comet that collided with Jupiter).  I don't expect to win but what an honor!  Jack and I will be giving the keynote speeches at the conference in Philadelphia the end of June, 2002, at the University of Pennsylvania.  Shawn Carlson of Scientific American, who is presenting the award, will also be doing a book on the 30 greatest discoveries of the twentieth century found by citizen scientists, and I, along with Jack and David, will be included in it.  It will be published by Little, Brown, and Co, and will come out the end of 2003.  My house is a museum full of replicas of dinosaurs and other fossils (the real stuff are all in the aforementioned museums).  We collect brass animals (have over 1,000 so far), and antiques.  I still write poetry, and I am very sad that my creative writing teacher at Tremper, Fern Heoft (sic)is not alive to see her student succeed as an author.  I still remember her telling me that she new she would see me succeed as a writer.  Perhaps she did and I just am not aware of it.  She was the best teacher I ever had."

"What a year! -- my daughter Breana was in a near fatal car accident her Senior year (class of 2000) and we have had to go through many months of physical and cognitive therapy after months in the hospital.  But Breana is a fighter and she is going to college this fall! I am now an adjunct professor for Boise State University as well as part time Gifted/Talented Program Coordinator."

"I married in '73, then again in '81. I remained in Kenosha, WI up until 1987 when my wife and I moved to Sioux Falls, SD. I came here to work as a Technology Manager for a large midwestern accounting firm. You couldn't tear us away from here we love it so much. But I truly miss all the people I went to high school with. We have two children and 8 grandchildren, all in Sioux Falls. I would love to see a reunion where we all just all sit around talking to each other about experience and the different directions life has led us. I think that would be great."

Carol (Weiss) Powell  ‘72
"After Tremper A Cappella & Choraliers, I kept right on singing.  Sang with the Johnson Wax chorus, Kenosha band “Orphan”, acoustic duo with Jeff Kemen, worship team & soloist at church.  I attended UW-Parkside, majored in phy.ed. at Milwaukee, & music at Madison.  Got out with a B.A. in Organizational Communication (! ?)  Was a bus. rep. for PacBell, travel coordinator for TDS, & Kenosha Foster Parent Recruiter.  Married-1977.  Divorced-1979.  (Duh!)  Lived in Steamboat Springs, Reno, San Francisco, L.A., Madison, & recently moved to Marin County, CA. (See ‘Friends Meeting Friends’)  In 1995, God graciously changed my heart. Up to that point, nowhere I’d been, no one I’d loved, nothing I’d seen or done had ever given me such contentment & joy. Every day, as I try to put Him first, my life improves.  Married 2-3-01, have a godly husband, 2 beautiful step-daughters, a fun church family, a “little sister”, 2 cats, & 3 mice ( ! )  I’m so happy to be home!  ><>"

Gil Milholland '72
After graduation I went to UW-Eau Claire and graduated in 1977 with a degree in Psychology. There is not a lot one can do with a BA in Psych but it would later help me in life raising 4 stepchildren. Thus I took a few courses at Carthage College and became a certified teacher. I was in demand in the Kenosha area as a substitute teacher. Although my specialties were math and science, I only really enjoyed teaching kids with special needs weather they be physical, mental or behavior. The deaf classroom at Vennon was always my favorite.  I never really could handle the discipline aspects of teaching so I went back to college graduating from Parkside in 1983.  I had success in the computer field for many years and continue to do so today. I met my wife Laura and my 4 stepchildren while working in Milwaukee. We have been married since 1990. Success in the computer industry often requires relocation and changing jobs. We relocated to Wilkesboro, North Carolina in 1993 and again to Champaign, IL. Although I move around a lot I always leave friends and collect memories.

" I was married for 23 year but sadly things in life change. As many would be mad or say I would never do that again, I would never change anything. Each day has been an adventure and even now I look forward to seeing what life has to offer.. As schools and training has taught me, life has educated me...... I have a beautiful 19 year old daughter who graduated from Tremper in 2001, she is my life, my hope and dreams of the future.  I'm still self employed in automotive repair in Kenosha. "I moved to Memphis, TN in 1976. I worked as a staff songwriter and vocalist for Fame Publishing and Studios in Muscle Shoals, AL for 5 years. I worked as a freelance studio vocalist/songwriter in Memphis, Nashville, and

I spent the next few years traveling the country doing concerts while continuing to freelance in the studios around the mid south (and occasionally in Los Angeles). I am still currently a songwriter/recordingartist but just recently relocated to Sarasota, Florida (the jazz here is GREAT). I'm married to my beautiful wife Sandy and we have one fabulous daughter, Jessica, who graduated from the University of Memphis and is now married. I am also Pastor of Worship at a church here in Sarasota. I'd love to hear from anybody from the great days at Tremper (note, I didn't say
"great OLD days"!!)."

"Wow, this is a great site! My fellow band & orchestra friends may remember me dating Andy Davis (French Horn, Class of 1972) - we got married in 1977 & recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary (Who'd have thought I'd marry the first guy I ever dated in my life and that it would last this long?). Anyway, we now live in Verona Wisconsin (just outside Madison). Andy graduated UW-Madison in 1977 and I graduated in 1984 - both of us with Business degrees. I worked for 12 years as an investment officer with the State of Wisconsin Investment Board (managing pension money) while Andy established his career as a Senior Financial Advisor & Managing principal at American Express Financial Advisors. We are involved in the drum & bugle corps activity (Andy is Chairman of the Board - Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps Board of Directors) & we've housed young men from Japan, Holland, Thailand, England and USA who come to Madison to march with the world-famous Madison Scouts! We have 2 kids (Nicki-age 10 & Chad-age 7) and are involved in the usual parent-type stuff (dance lessons, hockey, swimming, etc.). We have season tickets to Wisconsin Badger Football (my favorite) and Hockey (Andy's favorite). I think the best vacation was the spur-of-the-moment trip we took to the 1994 Rose Bowl - what a blast! We also spend every fall Sunday afternoon cheering for the Packers (typical cheeseheads). I have so many great memories of my time at Tremper - band, orchestra & choir were the best! I'm so glad to have found this site & hopefully can get in touch with some long-lost friends."

She is a professor at the University of Houston, Clear Lake campus.  Gloria spent two years as a "World Famous Kilgore College Rangerette". I am sorry I have been unable to attend any of the reunions, maybe next time!

But I love it here - I've become a clog dancer (I *never* danced in high school), a birder (you mean there are more than just robins and non-robins?), and a Unitarian Universalist (no, not a Moonie - that's the Unification church). My favorite movie of late is Contact. It would be good to hear from other members of The George."

"After Tremper, I obtained B.A. and J.D. degrees from UW-Madison, a B.A. degree from Butler University and an L. LM. degree from Georgetown. After 4 years in the US Army (Captain, JAGC), I moved from Virginia to Carmel, Indiana, which borders Indianapolis to the North. I spent 12 years in privatepractice, primarily at a 250 attorney law firm in Indy. That is where I met my wife, Tammy, who also happens to be a lawyer, but is still normal. For the last few years, I have been the City Attorney and Deputy Mayor for Carmel, and have helped Tammy raise our three daughters (Elizabeth 8, Carolyn 7, and Katherine 4). I have never stopped calling Wisconsin home, and drag my wife and kids to all the Badger football games in Madison. I am looking forward to our 25th Class Reunion, and think this website is great. Best regards."

Everyone in my family always thought I would become a lwayer, so I headed off to UW-Madison in pursuit of that goal. The love of music wouldn't let me go and I ended up with a music education degree. I took my first job as a choral director in Dodgeville, WI, but tired of the "other" duties of teaching after 5 years. In a wild turn of events, I ended up in the computer field at the Dodgeville headquarters of Lands' End and have been there for the last 22 years. I'm currently managing our team of web developers and loving it. I've been married to my wonderful wife Cindy for the past 28 years and we're living just outside of Dodgeville in a log home we built a few years back. Our children are both grown. Our son, Sean is 26, married, and back a little more than a year from a National guard tour in Iraq. Our daughter, Heather, is 23, and a terrific young woman. We hope to stay in Wisconsin enjoy all this state has to offer.

"From Tremper went to UW Parkside for two years and then due to the expense went into the USMC for four years in Aviation Crash Fire and Rescue. Three years in California and one in Japan. Worked in California as a Trauma Room Technician for two years after the USMC. Decided CA wasnt for me moved back to Wisconsin attended UW Platteville for a BS degree in Mining Engineering. After graduation decided to get back into Fire Protection. Worked as a consultant for three different companies of which the Australian company I worked for was by far the best.  I was awarded the chances of a life time to travel all over the world (actually averaged 220 days per year) consulting for fire and property protection.  Decided the travel was hard on the family so I took a job at a fully integrated steel mill in Weirton, WV., as a fire protection engineer.  I am still here and now the Fire Chief and Fire Protection Engineer for the mill.  Family life is great, married for 15 years have a son (9) and a daughter (12). We live in the country and have a farmette about 25 miles from work in Unionport,Ohio.(a very small dot on the map south of Steubenville, OH.  I am still into the outdoors, hunting, fishing, raising pheasants, 4H advisor and little league coach."

After graduation I went to MACT for a semester.  School was not for me at the time so it was off to work.  I took a job with the wire rope company in Kenosha working with Bobby Shipley and Mike May.  One night while sitting at the SunnySide Club, Bobby said that he was going to see the Air Force recruiter.  Mike May and I decided to go with him to see what the AF was all about.  Ends up that Mike and I enlisted.  Mike got out after his first tour and here I am almost 24 years later.  I started out on the Gulf Coast of Florida at Hurlburt Field in 1978 as a Nondestructive Inspection Technician (NDI).  NDI folks look for structural defects that cannot be seen with the naked eye using test methods such as ultrasound, x-ray, eddy current ect.  While there I met my wife Lynn and we got married in 1980.  In 1983 we headed to Adana Turkey on a two-year tour.  We liked Turkey so much that we stayed for an extra year.  While in Turkey my daughter Shannon was born in Dec of 8!
5.  She has the privilege of having dual citizen ship (in Turkey only) until she’s 18.  In 1986 we moved to Wichita KS where I worked with the B-1 bomber.  In 1990 I was selected to fill a position on the Strategic Air Command’s (SAC) Maintenance Standardization and Evaluation Team (MSET) located in Omaha Nb.  This was a great job for the short time it lasted.  SAC was disbanded and 18 months after we got there we were headed to Whiteman AFB in Knobnoster Missouri.  I was asked to set up the new NDI Lab for the B-2 bomber.  We liked Missouri so much that 3 years to the day after getting there I took an assignment to Misawa Air Base in Northern Japan.  Japan was the best assignment we’ve had.  I can’t say enough good things about Japan.  We planned on staying until I retired when I got a phone call asking if I was available to come back to the states to take my current job as the Field Program Manager for the AF NDI Office.  I took the job and we moved to Oklahoma City in Aug o!
f 1999.  This job keeps me traveling around the world about 25 weeks a year.  The Air Force has truly been an adventure for my family and me.  I’ve been able to visit and live in many parts of the world.  In a couple of years I’ll have to retire and get a real job.

"I married in 1975, and we moved to Fort Walton Beach Florida in 1976 to be near my parents. In 1980 I divorced my first husband and moved to Mary Esther-Navarre Florida and have been there ever since, this is in the North West Panhandle of Florida famous for the white sand beaches, and also home of Eglin, and Hurlburt Field Air Force Bases, I have 3 children, Kelly 26, Robert 22 and Catherine 12, Robert went thru cancer therapy at age 9 and is now doing well, he has become a chef at one of the major Seafood Restuarants in Panama City Fla. , Kelly has 2 children of her own and is living in Fort Walton Beach also. Catherine is still living at home with myself and my present husband Terry, who works for the City of Fort Walton Beach. With his retirement in a few years we hope to move to the mountains of eastern Tennessee or northern Georgia. I was injured in a work accident  in 1997 resulting in permanent disability, not liking sitting home, and doing nothing, I found the world of Animal Rescue on the internet.  I am now a board member for Dachshund Rescue of Florida, www.drfl.org a group myself and 3 other people started, we now have members all over the state of Florida, and work with the national rescue groups, we take in unwanted dachshunds from owner turn-ins, cruelty cases, puppymill busts, strays and from kill shelters, place them in foster care for a while then when they are healthy and whole again, place them on our website to find new homes for them, it is a very rewarding experience and I recomend it to any who love animals.  There is rescue for almost every breed of dog/cat/horse around, and we move them all (including pot belly pigs & snakes !!!) as I am also a transport coordinator for rescued animals all over the country, we set up runs with volunteers to do the driving, to get dogs that were slated for death, into new and loving homes, (and are always looking for volunteer drivers & foster homes) it is so wonderful to be able to do this from the home and on the computer. I would love to hear from any former class mates that I am not in contact with now, I visited Kenosha last in 1995 and enjoyed seeing the town again throughly my husband had never been to Wisconsin (hes an Alabama boy) and was very impressed. Feel free to write me at mountains@cybertron.com  or see our website at www.drfl.org "
