The Tremper Alumni extend their condolences to friends and family of Doris Kupferschmidt.
Doris H. Kupferschmidt, 83, worked as a public health nurse at Bradford and Tremper High Schools for 32 years and retired in 1982.

Born: Nov. 19, 1917,  Dubuque, Iowa
Died: April 6. 2001 at Hospitality Nursing and Rehab
Parents: The late Edward C. and Rose (Schoff) Kupferschmidt.
Education:   Graduated from Dubuque High School in 1935.Recieved registered nursing degree from St. Luke's Hospital Nurses Training in Davenport, Iowa, and a degree in public health nursing from the University of Minnesota.  Doris served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps on the hospital ship Blanche F. Sigman during WWII,  until her discharge in 1946. She was recalled during the Korean War and was assigned for 17 months to Fort Riley in Kansas and Fort Custer in Michigan. She then came to Kenosha in 1948.
Survivors include three brothers:
Aaron (Jerry) Kupferschmidt of Dubuque,
John (Mary) Kupferschmidt of Tucson, Ariz.
Paul Kupferschmidt of Arlington, Va.
Two sisters
Rachel (Robert) Friedell of Colorado Springs, Colo.,
Ruth (Robert) Papenthien of Dubuque.
Preceded in death by four brothers:
Edward Jr.
Francis,
Mark
David.
