Brian "COOP" Cooper '97
SEMPER FIDELIS
Brian graduated from Tremper in
1997, joined the Marine Corps December 1997. Served
4 years active duty assigned to 5th Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment,
1st Marind Division; stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. During
that time deployed to numerous parts of the world during a Western
Pacific Deployment with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special
Operations Capable). Staff Sergeant Cooper was recalled in March
2004 to go to Iraq. Brian served as an embedded advisor to the
new Iraqi Army for one tour in Iraq; then returned for
another two years as a private security contractor, providing close
protection for U.S. Ambassadors, Congressmen, Senators, Sec. of State
Rice, and President G.W. Bush.
